A new report has been published on 'Financing Climate Action at City Level'.

Tyndall researcher Tim Braunholtz-Speight and Tyndall Manchester director Professor Carly McLachlan have published a new report on 'Financing Climate Action at City Level'.

The report is based on a virtual international Round Table, which brought together local government officers and private sector partners from across Europe and North America to discuss how city governments could fund climate action. This event was a follow-up to a previous Round Table that had identified finance as a critical challenge for local climate mitigation.

No easy solutions are on offer: but participants shared their experience of overcoming some of these challenges by working with other municipalities or private sector partners; matching financing methods to project scales; and working to long-term time scales while still being alert to making best use of short-term political 'moments' for change.
